Keanu Reeves as Neo, aka ‘The One’, joins forces with Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) to defeat The Matrix.
Creating worlds is a demanding business: the back-to-back shoot in Australia of parts two and three of The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions took 270 days. That was after seven weeks’ shooting in California. And then there was the year or so of post-production work necessary to get The Matrix Reloaded ready to go out around the globe on May 15, kicking off with a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival (The Matrix Revolutions will follow in November).

SOMETIMES WE LIKE TO INTRODUCE FILMS YOU’VE NEVER HEARD OF. SOMETIMES WE REPORT ON FILMS
YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT. AND ONCE IN A WHILE WE WRITE ABOUT A FILM LIKE THE MATRIX. WHAT CAN WE TELL YOU ABOUT THE ULTIMATE MOVIE FRANCHISE?
WELL, NOT THE PLOT: WHAT HAPPENS IN THE MATRIX RELOADED IS STILL PRETTY MUCH OF A SECRET. BUT
WE’VE PICKED OUT A FEW THINGS WE THINK JUST MIGHT INTEREST YOU…

But perhaps the most remarkable thing is that, less than a month before kick-off, just exactly what happens in that world is still a closely guarded secret.
The original movie, of course, focused on the struggles of Neo (Keanu Reeves) against ‘The Matrix’, a vast computer simulation which kept mankind enslaved. Awakened, Neo became ‘The One’ and, with the aid of Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), battled against Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) and other agents of The Matrix, including the metallic, squid-like Sentinels and some pretty impressive kung-fu fighters.
